Outcome:

  • Improved awareness about the SSF Guidelines amongst traditional small-scale fishing communities is applied to enhance local livelihoods, especially of women, through participatory fisheries management.

Activities:

  • Workshop organized at the National Congress of the Association of Fisherfolk in Thailand on the SSF Guidelines to strengthen local organizations’ capacity to implement the SSF Guidelines
  • Preparation of advocacy materials on human rights-based approach and rights violations in Phetchaburi and Trat provinces with special emphasis on women
  • Facilitate participation of coastal fisherfolk in ecosystem-based fisheries management in Petchaburi and Trat provinces through field-level projects
  • Help mainstream gender into participatory fisheries management mechanisms
